canada immigration news

Wednesday’s latest IRCC draw saw 2,750 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) sent with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score cut-off of 439 – a 19 point reduction from last week’s draw. This is great news for all who were hoping IRCC would reduce the cut-off in its draws and also increase the frequency of the draws. I am still hoping we will see lower IRCC draw cut-offs in the weeks leading to the end of the year.

This is the fourth IRCC draw in November already, and the month is not over yet! Well done IRCC. This supports my belief that the IRCC draw cut-off score will only go downwards from here on until the end of the year, and maybe even up to the early part of 2018. This is especially so if the next IRCC draw happens in a week, say on November 22. I am predicting 420.

Any new ITA recipients in the house? Or do you know anyone who received an ITA today?

Oh, let’s play a prediction game. When do you think the next draw will be, and what will be the cut-off? Sound off below.

  1. Good Morning, great page, God bless you so much.
Started the process, sent my document to wes.
I did the online crs thing but only had 421.
Now that I have started with WES,
how do I open a profile page or account on their site?
Basically my q is, after WES, what next? where do I sign up?
Is there any province with low scores?

    Thanks so much

    1. Hi. Congratulations on taking that first bold step!!!! Well done! Okay, so a question? Have completed your WES evaluation? Have you also done your IELTS? If you answered “Yes” to both questions, then you go to the CIC website – – and complete and submit your profile. When completing your profile, if you would like to be nominated by one or more provinces, make sure you include that province or all provinces in your profile under the section pertaining to this.

Regarding provinces with low scores, you should read through the websites of all the provinces to see which you may be eligible for. At 421, your CRS score qualifies you for some provincial nominations. However Ontario, for example, selects individuals themselves, and there is no application process for the initial selection. Once Ontario has selected you, you will have to submit an application. Other provinces have a formal application. Once you meet the requirements, you will be granted a nomination. Most of them require that you have secured a job in their province.

I have a feeling that there will be a draw soon which will have a low cut-off of around 420. Just my opinion though, don’t take it to the bank:)

Hope this helps. All the best!

      1. Thanks for your reply, I appreciate it. Have you considered turning this into a business? You should. It’s simple and great what you do.
I clicked on the link you sent and its asking me to create an account through; online banking login or government of Canada, which should I choose?
Also, how do I check for provinces that can nominate me?

Once again, I am grateful for your reply and your page is a breathe of fresh air. I wish you a great stay and hopefully we would meet you soon in Canada. Lol.

        1. When you click on the link, scroll down to the part that says “Check if you are eligible to come to Canada”. Click on the link and start the process.

          Hope this helps.

  2. Hello Mrs O,

I am one of the 2750 who got their ITA during this draw. I am from Zimbabwe & the situation in my country has forced me to look at immigrating to greener pastures. For a year, my points were under 370. I then decided to re-do my IELTS exam in October & thank God my scores were CLB9+. My scores increased to 443 when i updated my profile early October. I knew it was only a matter of time before an invite came. On the 16th, i was scrolling my emails when I saw news of the draw. I knew that I had made it(ITA). After the excitement and celebrations,I have started to prepare my application for submission soon. The lord is faithful indeed to all those that trust in Him!

    1. Awwwww!!! This post warmed my heart. I have a friend who is in the same boat as you were pre-October with a low IELTS score. See how high your score jumped once you updated it with your CLB9+ IELTS results. Major congratulations to you and yours. I can totally understand your joy at receiving your ITA. I wish you all the best on this journey and I pray for God’s wisdom for you in preparing your application.

Looking forward to your PPR testimony!

  3. My husband and I got an ITA during this November draw with a 437 score, at this time I had only just registered to take the French exam so safe to say our profile wasn’t complete yet but we got the ITA anyway. Yay. We will be submitting our files next week by His grace and hopefully everything takes off fine from then.
Thanks for this blog Mrs O, I only just discovered it and im already in Love.
    Happy new year!

    1. Yay!!! That is so amazing! Congratulations. This means you have fewer documents to submit since your ITA was based on the “incomplete” submission. God’s best on the rest of your journey. Now the wait fun begins…!
